Imagine a candlelight dinner in front of a 12th century temple with traditional music while the sun goes down… Everything is organized by the local villagers, making it a genuine experience.
This tour starts early in the morning and includes walking, cycling and a short boat trip. Here you can learn about the spiritual side of Cambodia by spending some time with monks and seeing the city of Battambang awake to life. After enjoying a cup of fresh morning coffee, you board a local boat to cross the Sangke River. Then you cycle back to the river and follow the monks as they enter the city. The bike tour then goes on to a local market where you can try some local food before continuing along quiet roads back to town.
A visit to Kampot’s fish market before the dawn is a truly unique and non-touristic experience in Cambodia. The fishing boats go to sea on the late afternoon and return early in the morning before the dawn. The best time to come here is at 5.30 am when there is enough light to experience all life and movement and take some beautiful photos in the market that is rarely visited by tourists.
Walking around Angkor Thoms’ ancient walls is an authentic experience for everyone. The distance is 2-10 km depending on how far you want to go. While walking along a sandy forest path, you will hear local farmers working or birds singing, but hardly any disturbing tourist groups. After enjoying the sunset at a hidden temple, it is time to take a seat in a traditional carved wooden boat and row on the “Angkor Gondola” back to your transfer. Champagne, wine and soft drinks are offered at the end of a memorable day far from the tourist crowds.
The sunrise at Ta Prohm offers a relaxing atmosphere far from the crowds often seen at Angkor Wat. When the sun rises, you will see the temple surrounded with trees and vineyards growing among the buildings. The trip then continues to a local wooden house near the royal bath in Sra Srang where you enjoy a traditional breakfast.
