Here we share some practical information that is good to know when traveling to Indonesia. Read it before departure to facilitate the preparation.

Passport / visa

Swedish citizens can visit Indonesia without a tourist visa for up to 30 days. You should present a return ticket as an evidence. Other purposes of visit require a visa, which can be obtained at the Embassy: https://www.kemlu.go.id/stockholm/en/default.aspx

Vaccination

Health

Indonesia is generally a safe country to visit. However, it is always recommended to be careful in places with a lot of people and avoid any demonstrations.

Climate

The country’s location at the equator offers a tropical climate with large rainfalls at some periods, which can lead to minor floods in some areas. Always stay well-informed about the weather conditions, no matter what time of year you travel. Earthquakes occur when the country is close to several tectonic plate boundaries, but most are small and do not cause any material damage.

Make sure you have a valid travel insurance for your trip to Indonesia.
